About

Faulisi Caffè & Enoteca: A Chef Couple’s Italian Corner of Downtown Cary

On East Chatham Street in downtown Cary, Faulisi Caffè & Enoteca is the evolution of the acclaimed Pizzeria Faulisi—a chef-driven Italian spot from husband-and-wife team Zach and Amber Faulisi. Today it’s a warm morning-and-afternoon café and wine bar built on the same commitment to quality that made its reputation.

From Culinary School to Cary

Zach and Amber Faulisi met at culinary school in Pittsburgh and brought decades of combined experience to Cary. Amber worked as a sous chef at Andrew Carmellini’s Locanda Verde in New York, while Zach cooked at The Durham and grew up in an Italian restaurant family. They opened Pizzeria Faulisi in 2017, quickly earning a following for Neapolitan-style pizzas and house-made pasta.

A Reputation Built on Craft

The kitchen made its name on simple, high-quality Italian cooking: thin, blistered pizzas made with imported Caputo flour blended with locally milled Boulted Bread flour, and pillowy ricotta gnocchi and other from-scratch pastas. That ingredient-first ethos carries through to the current caffè-and-enoteca concept.

Caffè and Enoteca

In its current form, Faulisi leans into a relaxed daytime café and wine bar—espresso and Italian bites alongside a curated wine corner and house vermouth flights. It’s an intimate, neighborhood-scaled spot that rewards a leisurely visit.

Plan Your Visit

Faulisi now keeps daytime hours and is closed Sunday through Tuesday, so plan for a late-morning or lunchtime stop rather than dinner. Check current hours before you go, as the café format continues to evolve.
